Senior Instructors

Miss Marnie

Miss Marnie is a registered ballet teacher with the Royal Academy of Dance. For the past 30 years, she has been sharing her passion for all things dance with students across Canada from coast to coast.
Her early training took place in Kamloops, British Columbia starting at the age of 5. She performed in many local festivals and musical theatre productions. She then went on to study at Ryerson Theatre School in Toronto and Canadian Dance World.
Since obtaining her registered teacher status in 1994, Miss Marnie has prepared countless pupils for all levels of RAD examinations as well as choreographed for festivals and shows, both home and abroad. In 2018, she began mentoring young teachers in the Royal Academy’s three-year CBTS program. Acting as artistic director for Richmond Youth Dance Society, she choreographed and co-produced the ballets “Thumbelina” and “Chopin”, in collaboration with the Vancouver String Quartet.
Some of Miss Marnie’s students have gone on to study at Juilliard, Canada’s National Ballet School, Royal Winnipeg Ballet School, and Sheridan College.
Miss Marnie is a life-long learner who recently became certified in Progressing Ballet Technique and is currently deepening her curiosity about the relationship between dance training and mental skills.
Miss Marnie also enjoys teaching yoga, reading, traveling, and spending time with her dogs.
She is thrilled to be embarking on her fourth season with Pirouette School of Dance and looks forward to sharing her passion for the art of dance with her students.

MISS ADRIENNE

MISS ADRIENNE

Acro/Hip Hop/ Dance Fusion

Miss Adrienne is back for a third season with us! She attended the Victoria School of Performing Arts where she discovered her love of dance and cheer. Miss Adrienne coached junior high cheerleading and competed herself. She also joined the Edmonton Oilers performance dance team, Octane and the Edmonton Eskimos Energy Team. Recently Miss Adrienne completed her Junior Teacher Certification Course with the Acro Dance Teachers Association and is now recognized as a fully qualified Premiere Certified ADTA Instructor.

MISS JAYDEN-ANN

Jazz/ Contemporary

Miss Jayden-Ann has danced at the Pirouette School of Dance since she was three years and was a competitive team member since she was seven. She has completed her Grade 5 RAD and Intermediate Ballet exams and ADAPT Intermediate 2 Jazz exam and is currently working on her first year of ADAPT training. Throughout her dance career, Miss Jayden-Ann has won serval outstanding and placement awards as well as convention scholarships, where she has been fortunate enough to learn from some of the top choreographers in the dance industry. This past year she won her first awards as a choreographer. Miss Jayden-Ann looks forward to continuing to do what she loves in the form of teaching and getting to work with Pirouette’s remarkable dancers.

MISS JENELLE

MISS JENELLE

Lyrical/ Tap

Miss Jenelle started dancing at the age of 3 and has been in love with it ever since. She joined competitive team at the age of 6 where she was expected to take all disciplines of Jazz, Tap, Ballet, Lyrical, Hip Hop, Musical Theatre, Variety, and Contemporary. At the age of 12 she started assisting classes and at the age of 16 took on solo teaching while completing the highest level of ADAPT training in Jazz and Tap and RAD training in ballet by graduation. Miss Jenelle continued to teach, take conventions and work with world wide choreographers while achieving a degree in Education and Kinesiology. Miss Jenelle first joined the Pirouette family from 2010 to 2014 and obtained several Choreography, Most Promising, and Most Outstanding awards with the competitive teams. Miss Jenelle left Cold Lake, and while starting and raising a family, she continued to teach and choreograph all over Canada. We are very excited to have her return to the Pirouette family!

MISS BAILEY

MISS BAILEY

Musical Theatre

Mrs. Bailey’s experience with Musical Theatre extends back a lifetime of developing a passion for all things in the arts and entertainment. After gaining instruction and experience in various forms of dance and acting in her youth, she acquired a Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in music specializing in voice, as well as Bachelors of Fine Arts and Education degrees majoring in Drama.

Since living in Cold Lake for almost 20 years, she has directed multiple school productions including choreography and music direction for Once Upon a Mattress, Fiddler on the Roof, Music Man, Into the Woods, and Annie, as well as Nunsense and Let Me Entertain You for The Grande Parlour. She also previously spent several years teaching Musical Theatre at Pirouette School of Dance and is looking forward to returning for more adventures in teaching students the art of singing, acting, and dancing!

MISS LAURA

MISS LAURA

Hip Hop

Miss Laura was born in Calgary, AB where she started dancing at the age of 2 with One Step Ahead. When she was 11, she transitioned her dance career to the School of Alberta Ballet training in Ballet, Pointe, Character Ballet, and Modern/Contemporary. She pursued her love of Tap, Jazz, and Lyrical with Premiere Dance Academy, competing across southern Alberta in all 3 genres.

Miss Laura performed as part of the children’s cast for multiple seasons in Alberta Ballet’s production of The Nutcracker (choreographed by Edmund Stripe) and A Midsummer Night’s Dream (choreographed by Wendy Wright). Her love of dance took her across Canada and the US, training in summer intensives at Royal Winnipeg Ballet School, Boston Ballet School, and Joffrey Jazz and Contemporary in Miami and New York.

As an adult, her passion for dance continued partaking in Adult Tap, Hip Hop, and Ballet classes with Decidedly Jazz Danceworks in Calgary, AB. In the last year, she moved up to Cold Lake, AB where she danced in the Adult Ballet and Dance Fusion classes with Pirouette.

Miss Laura is thrilled at the opportunity to share her love of dance with the young and upcoming dancers at Pirouette!

MISS Ava

MISS Ava

Highland Dance

Miss Ava began dancing under world champion Nancy (Haggerty) Gibbons and Stacy Gomuwka at age 5. She has competed at all levels of dance for 15 years, and travelled to many Highland Games and championships all over Canada. 

Miss Ava took over Whitecourt Highland Dance Studio in 2018 and proudly became an associate in British Association Teachers of Dancing in 2019. 

Miss Ava performed with the Okanagan Military Tattoo dance team, Simon Fraser University Pipe Band and qualified twice for the Sadie Simpson North American Scholarship. She performed in Travel Alberta commercials in Jasper and took annual lessons from 7 time world champion David Wilton. 

Miss Ava is working towards performing in the Edinburgh Military Tattoo in Scotland and is continuing to compete in the provincial and national championships in order to compete at world championships in Cowal Scotland. 

Miss Ava is looking forward to teaching your children highland dance!



MISS KAILEY

MISS KAILEY

Student Teacher

Miss Kailey was born in Kentville, NS. She started her dance career at the age of 3, with Dance ConXtion, and at age 5 she joined the Pirouette School of Dance. Kailey’s true passion is ballet, but she also loves lyrical, contemporary, and pointe.

Miss Kailey has completed her RAD examinations to Grade 4 and is currently working on Grade 5 RAD and Intermediate Foundation.

Miss Kailey has been dancing competitively since age 12 and has won numerous awards for her teams, solos, and duets. She also received the extreme honor of being part of a large dance production of The Nutcracker in 2022 which was also filmed and shown in theaters. This year she is challenging herself with a lyrical self-choreographed piece for the upcoming competition year.

Miss Kailey started teacher assisting at the age of 13 and has worked with children for two years in a summer camp program. Now, at age 17, she is excited to start her solo dance teaching career. Miss Kailey loves working with children and aspires to become a schoolteacher in the future. This year she is looking forward to sharing her love and passion for dance with her students.

MISS ABBIE

Student Teacher

Miss Abigail (Abbie) was born in Cold Lake, AB. She started dancing at the age of 2 at the Pirouette School of Dance. Miss Abbie has also been dancing competitively since the age of 7 and has won numerous awards for her teams, solos, and duets. One of her proudest accomplishments is winning 1st place at the Crystal Grand Championships in Kelowna in 2022 for her Contemporary solo.

Miss Abbie’s passions for dance are Jazz, Contemporary, Acro, and Hip Hop but has done it all (except Tap). This upcoming competition year, she will be competing with the Senior Jazz, Contemporary, and Acro teams and with an Acro duet, Contemporary solo, and Hip-Hop solo. Miss Abbie has completed her Pre Int 1 ADAPT exam.

Miss Abbie has attended multiple dance intensives and in 2019, Miss Abbie received the extreme honor of playing the lead, alongside her brother, in The Nutcracker production with the St. Paul & District Arts Foundation.

Miss Abbie was a teacher assistant for two years and now, at the age of 15, is excited to start her dance teaching career. Miss Abbie loves working with children and sharing her passion for dance with the up-and-coming little dancers. Dance fostered her confidence and she loves when she sees others come out of their shell through dance. She can’t wait to meet all her students and have a FUN dance year!

MISS ZOE

MISS ZOE

Student Teacher

Miss Zoe started dancing at Pirouette School of Dance at the age of 2. She enjoys every style of dance and is currently taking Acro, Ballet, Contemporary, Jazz, Lyrical and Tap classes. She is completed several RAD and ADAPT exams and is working on completing her RAD Grade 5 and Intermediate levels as well as her ADAPT Pre Inter 3 Jazz and Pre Inter 2 Tap.

Miss Zoe has been dancing competitively since she was 7 and has been on several award winning teams as well as receiving awards for her solos and duets.

Miss Zoe has been a Teacher’s Assistant for the past several years and is excited for this opportunity to teach and share her love of dance with Pirouette’s younger dancers in Creative Movement and Tap.
